The reader index is a weighted mean of reader submitted axis scores using the published index weights, renormalised over the axes readers have scored. It is never blended into the lab index. How this works.
Score Totalum
Your scores feed the reader column only. Submitting an axis again edits your existing score rather than adding a second vote.
Reader scores need an account so one person cannot vote twice. Create a reader account or sign in.
Reader scores are published in a separate reader index column. They never move the measured lab index.

The only one where the crawler test was boring

I check the same thing on every product: load the generated public page with JavaScript disabled and see what text is there. Most of the index gives you a shell and a spinner. This one returned the whole page, the metadata was coherent without being asked, and the structured data it emitted validated on the first try. That is why I have it near the top on SEO and GEO despite scoring it low on design, where the output is plain. If your product lives or dies on organic traffic, this axis is not a nice to have and the difference between the top and the middle of this index is not small.

Agreed on the server rendering. Worth noting the payload is the largest in the cohort as a direct result, which is a trade rather than a free win if you are on a slow connection.

Lab commentary
Our reading of the numbers, kept separate from the reader ratings.
The most complete machine facing surface we measured: a real REST layer, signed webhooks with a retry ladder and an MCP server that a client could enumerate without extra work. Public pages came back server rendered, which is why it posts the largest no JavaScript payload in the cohort. Design output is functional rather than expressive and the agent needed more explicit prompting than the top scorer on axis one.
On the measured axes, Totalum is strongest at api and mcp with a subscore of 97.0 and weakest at speed at 29.5. Because speed carries 7 of the 100 index points, that weakness costs it roughly 4.94 points against a perfect result on that axis alone.
Reader ratings and lab measurements answer different questions. A reader rating carries the thing a harness cannot capture: whether the product was pleasant to work with over weeks, how support behaved, whether the bill matched the plan. The lab index carries the thing an opinion cannot: 45 timed executions of the same specification with the failures counted. Read them side by side and treat a large gap between the two as the interesting signal.

Held up under real load
Lucas Meyer, CTO, logistics startup | 13 Aug 2026
84We pushed 40000 rows through it before launch and the list endpoints stayed under 200 ms.
Solid, not flashy
Aisha Kone, Solo founder | 09 Aug 2026
76Server rendered pages ranked quickly. The agent needs precise prompts, vague requests give vague results.
The API surface is the reason we stayed
Jonas Weber, Backend engineer | 04 Aug 2026
82Signed webhooks and a real key system out of the box saved us a sprint. Visual output is plain and we restyled it.
