Create a reader account

An account lets you score every product we cover on the same ten axes the lab uses, write a lab note about a build you actually shipped, reply to other readers and upvote the notes that helped you. It takes one email address and no payment details.

The one rule that matters

Reader scores are published in their own reader index column, next to the lab index. They are never blended into it, averaged with it or used to break a tie in it. The lab number stays purely measured, which is the only reason it is worth anything.

What you can do

One score per product per axis, on 0 to 100, editable whenever your view changes.
Lab notes with a real minimum length, because a one line verdict is not evidence.
Comments on any published note, and one upvote per contribution.
A public profile at /u/your-handle.

How we keep it honest

One account per email address, per user and per network rate limits, a moderation pass on first contributions, and a reader index that is only published once a product has at least 3 distinct voters behind it. Read the contribution rules.
